My Ring Vanished! - 08/18/2004
I am a manager of a webring, and I have had it for a week or so now... its a new webring, but I had 6 members and I know I maintained the required amount. Can someone tell me where my own webring could have went? My website is at:

www.care4fish.com

and the webring coding is at the bottom... take a look. Its like my ring has been deleted or something?

I am really confused.

WebRing tech speaking here:

The ring was deleted on 8/18 at 11:24 AM Pacific time. Someone logged into the account care4fish, deleted all the sites, then deleted the ring. Then they logged out. Based on the IP address of the person doing the actions it was NOT you. From all appearances it was someone who normally logs in to a different User ID. Without identifying that individual publicly, is there someone you gave your password to, or who might guess it? Someone you pissed off? We'll restore the ring for you, but you might want to change your password.

Oh my goodness... no, I haven't made anyone that I know of mad, and certainly never gave away my password. Please, restore my account, and in an email you can send to webmaster@care4fish.com please tell me who it was that did this.

I would be very thankful for this info, and will handle things appropriately, and tastefully. I now wonder how they hacked into my account?

I am a member of several aquaria related sites that have been hacked, and you would be doing us all a world of favor if you can offer ANY help to who did this!

Care4fish, I know it can be difficult to remember many different passwords. But if you use the same password in several locations there is always a risk one of the sites cannot be trusted (or one of the sites gets hacked and all the passwords there get stolen)...
