You should picture Don Pardo saying that with an echo in the background. This was classic.

Esta Starwind, one of the many ringmasters who recently left webring, deleted something called "The Active Pagan Webring". Webring then brought that ring back from the dead. But they must have been digging into the grave pretty deeply, because when they brought it back, one of my yahoogroups, Lupercalia_Gathering, ended up reinstated into it.

Esta cancelled my membership in her ring when she took over. How long ago was that? Long enough ago that I can't remember. It's been a few years, let's say that much. But, all of a sudden, there I am, and am getting a "suspended site" notice because, strangely enough, I no longer have code on the page for a ring that it hasn't belonged to since Saddam Hussein was still in power. Literally.

What I do have code on it for is the ring that I signed it up for after it was dumped from that earlier ring - the Delphic Oracle. But, almost as if to say "no, no, you don't belong to THAT ring, you belong to THIS one, the system or maybe some Webring admin (who knows which) has deleted my group's membership in the ring it actually belonged to. Oh, and transferred it from one webring membershp to another, because that webring membershp hasn't been managed from this webring account for years.

No great disaster from my point of view, maybe, as this is one of the groups I'm considering deleting during my next downsizing, but d**ned funny all the same. Absolute, gross incompetence on a level I've never witnessed on any service, anywhere - and these guys think they're ready to make the transition to being a high priced commercial service? They're dreaming.

PS. Are you going to delete this post too, kids?
