message from a former manager.
I originally joined webring to start a ring for people who owned and used a new software I had discovered. This software was for making ebooks that looked like the real world books and flipped their pages too. So the ring was limited to these people, and also for the promotion of their web sites.
After starting, designing the logo, and managing this ring for quite some time, I had a computer crash. I am retired on a fixed income and could not afford to just buy a new computer. So I was off line for several months.
When returning to the net, I found that my ring had been taken from me, and placed up for adoption. When I explained what happened they said it was no excuse, and would not give it back. I made that ring, it was mine, they did nothing in the production of that ring.
I took the ring off my site, and now only have one there. So with one web site and one ring I fall in the free category, but I had intended to add more to get more traffic to my site. Now I am not about to pay for my own hosting and advertising of WebRing. So I may just leave it as is , or drop it all together.
