Together you are the body of Christ. Each one of you is part of his body. - 1 Cor 12:26 Yesterday, I went to physical therapy for my ankle. I've been going for three weeks now, since the doctor prescribed it in July. I went to the doctor because my ankle wasn't recovering from a sprain in April. At the end of each day, my ankle was swollen and sore. Samantha pointed out that I was limping down the stairs one night after we put the kids to bed. I admitted that yes, I was having chronic ankle pain. She urged me to go the doctor. To be honest, I felt silly. My ankle didn't hurt that bad, a 2 on a scale of 10. But it did hurt consistently and with every step. I tried running one night, but there was no way due to the pain. Walking for exercise was even difficult. I still feel silly in physical therapy. The guy that comes at the same time I do is an elderly man that just finished with his second back surgery. Yesterday was his last day. He was showing improvements, but Medicare would only pay for so many treatments. He's no where near what I would call well. He didn't want his treatment to end because it's improving his mobility and ability to function. He really needs physical therapy and is much worse off than I am. So, I feel silly for being there. Still, as unimportant in comparison it seems, I don't want chronic ankle pain. I want to be able to walk without pain. I want to be able to run again. I need my ankle to work. In Sunday School we started discussing the first chapter...
