Out with our friends again last night - this time in a different bar from the one before. "Can I have your telephone number?" was a recurring joke as we dwelt upon Sunday night's occurrence, before the conversation turned to birthdays - particularly the milestones. In January I will be 39 - which of course will be my 40th year on this earth. I don't mind being 39, but I can't stop thinking about turning 40. Not because I think it's old, but because, while not wishing to get all serious about it, it's making me think about what I've achieved in life so far. It suddenly popped into my head while chatting last night to compile a list of 40 things to do when I turn 40 in 2014 - or at least one new thing a month.
